DrawingDescriptionThis course combines the technical aspects of drawing with theoretical aspects of Fine Art practice. In this way, students will learn both how to achieve technical accuracy whilst developing an understanding that drawing is not entirely defined by the boundaries of mimicry. A variety of media will be tested alongside occasional collaborative exercises to encourage a group dynamic. Students will also be required to maintain their progression outside of the classes and share their work in the proceeding session. Periodically across the course, students will be introduced to a different technical principle of drawing and learn to apply this within their still life drawing each week. A Fine Art theory will also be included to allow for both technique and theory to develop in unison. There will be a time of discussion at the beginning to allow for group bonding and sharing of the previous weeks’ homework. This will be followed by practical exercises and more detailed skill sessions in theory. Students will be introduced to the following:
This fee covers 6 weeks attendance and tutorage, including assessment and basic materials. Additional cost may be incurred if participants choose to work with non-standard materials or at high volume or large format. This 8-week short course will run on Monday evenings from 6pm-8pm at the Regent Street Campus Start Dates:
